In 1997, the C.E.A. Board prayerfully initiated a high school program, one year at a time. Our program was built around a scope and sequence and humanities plan designed to help parents provide a solid academic base for their older children. Students develop good study habits as they complete program requirements, habits which will serve them well should they choose to go to college. A number of our students have left high school as National Merit contenders, and we are proud of their accomplishments. At the same time, as is true with the younger classes, our primary desire is to help our high school students develop godly character and a distinctly Christian world view. Weekly Chapel services help promote spiritual growth and development.

In the high school program we utilize the “Principle Approach” in our humanities classes. Teachers help students use learning methods similar to those used by our country’s founding fathers, including the “Four R’s” (research, record, reason, and relate) as they deepen their understanding of various subject areas. Additionally, students read many of the primary sources of history, as well as classic literature. The development of writing skills is also emphasized, and students are assigned numerous research papers and essays over the course of their high school career.

In addition to a strong academic program, C.E.A.’s high school students benefit from participation in C.E.A.’s Key Club. This organization provides students the opportunity to develop leadership skills while serving others within the community. Participation also provides many wholesome social opportunities for these older students.
