CEA parents are Christians committed to being highly involved in the day-to-day education of their children, and willing to make the sacrifices necessary to make CEA successful for their children. These sacrifices include significant time and energy from both parents beyond at-home instructional time. Parents provide needed support at home by quizzing their child prior to tests, helping with new concepts and projects, making sure work is completed on time, grading non-subjective work as directed, etc. One parent must commit to being home with his/her student(s) when the child is not in class at CEA in order to provide needed assistance and support.
Additionally, each CEA family is required to sign up for one service position, per child enrolled. Each of these positions will take an average of 4 – 6 hours of time per month. Parents are also expected to sign up for summer work sessions prior to the beginning of classes. By volunteering time, energy, and talents, parents help CEA operate smoothly and efficiently while keeping tuition rates low.
The principles presented in the parenting curriculum, Growing Families are closely aligned with CEA’s core principles and provide an important foundation for our families as we work together to train their children in biblical character. All families accepted for admissions are asked to participate or demonstrate prior completion in the course. A CEA couple facilitates this course for our new families or helps them to enroll in a local class.
